Information we collect

• Account details. Your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — your name and profile information that Google shares with us. We use this to create and identify your account.
• Profile information you provide. Details you choose to add, such as your phone number, date of birth, and other information you enter in your profile.
• Golf data you enter. Rounds, shots, GPS locations of your shots, your clubs, handicap, and the Strokes-Gained results we compute from them.
• Basic technical data. Standard server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Provide the app — authenticate you, save and show your rounds, and calculate your statistics.
• Communicate with you about your account and the service.
• Send you marketing communications, and show you offers, products, and services (our own and those of selected partners) that we think may interest you, including based on your profile and how you use the app. We do this only for adult users — we do not use a minor's profile or behavior to target marketing (see Age requirement and minors).
• Improve OpenSG and develop new features.

Where the law requires your consent for marketing (for example, marketing emails or texts), we will obtain it, and you can withdraw it at any time — see Your choices below.

Sharing and selling

We may share your information with:

• Service providers that make the app work (for example, our hosting, database, map, email, and analytics providers), who process data only on our behalf.
• Advertising and marketing partners, with whom we may share or sell certain information so that we and they can market relevant products and services to you. We do not sell or share information we obtain from Google (such as your Google email and profile) for these purposes — that data is used only to run the app.
• Others where required by law or to protect our rights.

Depending on where you live, some of this sharing may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. You have the right to opt out — see Your choices below.

Your choices

• Marketing. You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any message, or through our contact form. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential account and service messages.
• Opt out of sale/sharing. You can ask us not to sell or share your personal information for advertising through our contact form.
• Access and deletion. You can request a copy or deletion of your data at any time — see below.

Age requirement and minors

You must be at least 14 years old to use OpenSG. 14 is the minimum age; we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 14. If you believe someone under 14 has provided us information, contact us through our contact form and we will delete it.

OpenSG supports school and junior golf teams, so some of our users are minors (14 and older). For any user we know or believe to be a minor, we do not target advertising or marketing to them, and we do not profile them or build marketing segments based on their behavior or how they use the app. We do not sell or share a minor's personal information for advertising purposes. We use a minor's information only to provide the app and, where applicable, to support their coach or team as described in this policy.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through our contact form, and we will remove it.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, all traffic is served over HTTPS, and we follow standard web security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
